Pepa Pombo

I have an interesting pattern of discovering (and falling in love with) designers previously unknown to me while while I’m traveling. Does this happen with you too?

On a visit to Mexico City, this bright and bold cape caught my eye. The unique combination of colors, pattern and fabrication were unlike anything I’ve seen and I loved the multi-functionality. Pepa Pombo created her renown design house in 1978. The Columbian born designer appointed her daughter Monica Holguin to the role of creative director in 2002 and the label is proudly family run and operated. Monica has successfully retained the brand’s DNA of creating original intricately hand-woven designs with exquisite detail to embroidery, weaving and finishings. Her goal is to continue creating distinct, versatile, multi-functional pieces for “the modern woman who attains a penchant for texture and detail, unashamedly confidant with her innovative and individual style”. The most recent collection “Blush of Dawn” is filled with opulent pieces with rich fabrications, exquisite textures, and vibrant colors.

I pack my Pepa Pombo cape now whenever I travel and wore it recently over an orange print Hermes silk scarf dress (also featured here) and grey suede Ralph Lauren over-the-knee boots. You may recognize my favorite Louis Vuitton silver Lock Me Collar Neklace and Tiffany Graduated Link earrings from previous posts as well.

I hope you all have a happy July 4th weekend and experience #onlyjoy wherever you are this holiday!.
