On Trend: Layer up!

Tis the season of “wrapping up” our year with holiday parties, gift shopping, and traveling to see our families and loved ones. It has been particularly chilly in Dallas which seems like the perfect time to layer up!

Today’s look features a gorgeous orange velvet blazer with cold shoulders and button detailing from Columbian couture designer Silvia Tcherassi. I placed a jewel toned pin on my blazer which was once part of a fur clutch given to me by a dear family member but is now repurposed as a broach. (Note: Stay tuned for future uses). I’m wearing a mesh leopard print Victoria’s Secret bodysuit with ruching at the waist ad shoulders underneath with an orange and rose Damask Velvet Jacquard Tailored Coat by Burberry on top of it all. The length and texture of the coat gives this look and added layer of dimension, lush color and provides desperately needed warmth.

My toasted almond August leggings from Wolford are soft, perfect for packing, and work wonderfully with the warm orange tones on top. Plus they pull in my vintage Gucci booties that I’ve literally had for nearly 20 years!!
