More Blissipline for thought....
As I sit here contemplating the Reflection piece I just posted about Blisspline, I instantly remembered one of my favorite pit stops in Soho - which surprisingly isn’t an art gallery or designer’s studio, but rather Dominique Annsel’s bakery and more importantly, their frozen S’mores on a stick.
Dominque Ansel is a James Beard Award winning Pastry Chef who created the “cronut” (croissant-doughnut hybrid) before inventing the chocolate chip cookie shot among other creations that are as magnificent to see as they are to taste. Dominque came from humble beginnings. Growing up in a small town in France just north of Paris, when he began working at the age of 16 in a local restaurant in order to help support his family. There was a free culinary school in his hometown, so he enrolled in their apprenticeship program, first as a savory cook and then as a pastry cook. It was the precision and scientific nature of pastry that appealed to Dominique immediately, and from then on, he knew what he was meant to do. After years of study, and a stint in the military, he moved to NYC and opened his first shop in 2011. Since then his creative delicacies have been broadcast all over social media and there are lines to get into his shop daily.
So when I’m in NYC, I try to blissipline myself by making a short stop in his beautiful shop to indulge in a little taste of heaven. And, why not wear my fabulous black Akris punto Starry Sky Tulle Midi Skirt with my favorite white button down Wolford London Effect bodysuit and Alexander McQueen black leather Corset Belt while I’m at it? I’ve paired my Prada Black Sock Ankle Sandals and two Tiffany silver bone cuff bracelets that are treasured gifts from my husband while on a trip to San Fransisco recently - along with my VBH turquoise ostrich Brera Bag to finish off this fun look which can be worn day or night!
What are some of your Blissiplinary goals for 2020? I hope one is #onlyjoy!
XO
Kathleen
