A River Runs Through It

In this week’s Reflection, I discuss the importance of raising bold girls. I’d like to add that, its never, ever too late to make bold decisions and try new things.

I’ve always been an active and athletic person but as my life redirected in 2015, I made the decision to try things that peeked my interest but never explored. Why not?. The list was long and involved travel and adventures all over the world which I will never forget and am utterly grateful for. Also on the list, was fly fishing which has become the unexpected and unparalleled passion that continues to fill me in exponential ways.

One of my favorite spots to cast my line is not far from my home in Colorado. The Roaring Fork River has plenty of Rainbow and Brown Trout among other floaters.

What does Wu wear while fly fishing? My Simms Tributary Waders are essential and easily accommodate layers if necessary. This black Park Slope Dudley Stephens fleece turtleneck was gifted to me by a friend who is a fan of the female founded and run company specializing in apparel sourced from recycled materials and environmentally conscious manufacturing.

I also carry my Fishpond fly fishing chest pack and Net, which is essential and always bring a hat to protect me from sun glare. This particular one was purchased in small store in the center of Puebla Mexico. I took a trip there with some girlfriends to  see how the origins of Chinese blue and white pottery made its way over oceans to Mexico ages ago and is now known as Talavera pottery.

What bold adventures or new hobbies do you want to try?
