Color Therapy

I’m often drawn to color combinations that invigorate, inspire or excite me. Recently I came across a podcast that discussed Color Therapy and how our brains sometimes are drawn to - or activated - by the colors we surround ourselves with.

This lead me to google more about color theory and psychology, which by definition states “Color psychology is the study of hues as a determinant of human behavior. Color influences perceptions that are not obvious, such as the taste of food. Colors have qualities that can cause certain emotions in people. How color influences individuals may differ depending on age, gender, and culture”

Pretty straightforward, right? I then perused my posts here and was pretty fascinated by the similarities!.

I often wear Yellows and Citron shades, (even in my very first post) like this LaPointe silk organza trench coat which is said to invoke creativity, joy (#onlyjoy), enlightenment, inner power and positivity. Ironically, I also noticed varying shades of Blue, like the sequin long sleeve Lapointe top that I layered over a blue tie dyed Proenza Schouler long sleeve top. According to color science, blue shades inspire peace, calm, inner strength and creative visualization!.

I am wearing the same Free People Super Flare jeans that I featured here which are also paired with similar hues and the delightfully comfortable Converse Run Star Hike platform sneakers.

To complete the look, I am carrying a vintage Louis Vuitton multicolor monogram Eye Love You Sac, my everyday jewelry and an Hermes necklace.

I hope to learn more about this over time! What are the hues you’re drawn to???
