Transition time..

It’s a complicated season for my closet organization. We are certainly moving towards warmer days and brighter shades but the transition into Spring can still be unpredictable so I’m careful about what I put into winter storage. Pieces that layer are very handy for me now especially when I’m packing for a multi-city itinerary.

Here are some perfect examples. I’m wearing a pair of Tory Burch high-rise Mia jeans embellished with a mix of raffia, seed beads, wooden rounds, and cascades of fringe that have been tipped with real seashells at the hem. To keep the look simple I’ve paired a JCrew button down blouse with cranberry stripes (that I stole from my son’s closet!) and a Coach leather vest with white shearling and leather buckle detailing.

My belt and earrings are made by the talented Barry Kieselstein-Cord and you may recognize the camel open toe Steve Madden booties from earlier posts here and here. On my right wrist, I’ve layered brown and neutral toned bracelets and bangles by Pollinari (that I picked from the man’s workshop in Italy), Carolina Herrera and Cinco de Uno leather bracelets. On my left hand is a leather choker that a friend gave me which I double wrap and wear as a bracelet sometimes.

My bag is a vintage Yves St Laurent with an antler handle that I’ve had for years. While it’s sadly showing its age, I cannot retire it just yet……it’s just such a workhorse!

Finally, you may recognize the sneakers I carry for a “quick change” when on the go! They are a fabulous collaboration of Nike Air-Force 1’s with vintage Louis Vuitton panels that were made by a company called One Twelves. They make Limited designs that drop every few months and sell out within hours.

Perfect for travel, perfect for mixing and matching.

Do you have favorite pieces that are your go-to’s for transitional seasons?!?!

XO Kathleen
