Valentino in Soho

I find myself traveling to New York a lot lately and was delighted to have an hour in between appointments to explore my old stomping grounds in Soho. As a college student and for a short time after law school, I was lucky enough to live among the artists, filmmakers and creators that called this neighborhood home. It was (and always is) a blast to return and meander through the area.

While exploring memory lane, I wore an exquisite Valentino double-breasted belted fringe hem leather trench coat that my style guru Tameka spotted and knew it was one of those one- of- a kind versatile pieces that would stand the test of time and survive the trends and whims of fashion. The coat has a belted waist and shoulder epaulettes. I’ve layered a Cosabella long sleeve top under a blue and white stripped Oxford from Jcrew and then tied a large multi-colored Hermes cashmere silk blend scarf (my friend’s wonderful son picked it up for me in Germany and gave it to me over dim sum last month) so that I could wear it as a halter top over the Oxford.

My green suede pants are made by Stouls and I wrapped my go-to Gucci GG belt around the waist to pull it all together. Finally, I completed the look with a pair of white mules by GIANVITO ROSSI.

What would you wear if you were exploring Soho in April?

XO Kathleen
