When you know, you know

My dear friend texted me last fall with the link to a a pair of silk pajamas and said “These would look so good on you”.  I must say, It was love at first sight.  Olivia Von Halle’s Lila Mona printed silk-satin pajama set (or “Pyjamas” as she calls them) are most definitely not just for sleeping.  Her entire collection is lush and extraordinary... and I dare you to find anything on her site that is less than beautiful.

Today, I am wearing the beloved bottoms of this set with a white tailored blouse from Jill Sander underneath a black and white off-the-shoulder Alice + Olivia sweater.  I’ve also layered a vintage jade necklace that belonged to my mother along with Jade bangles and a limited edition Chanel bracelet from Karl Lagerfeld’s 2010 Shanghai accessories collection.

This collection included fabulous evening purses with Chinese red or jade green embroidery, in addition to bags that were Inspired by Chinese cuisine take-away boxes. There were also bracelets, earrings and necklaces that combined the exquisite Chanel classic elements with Chinese elements. Karl Lagerfeld masterfully introduced a number of different metaphors while designing this collection, injecting traditional Chinese art and folk customs into each of the pieces.

To complete the look, I draped a beautiful Floral-print textured cotton-blend coat by Etro (similar: here) over my shoulders, and wore cool and edgy black Prada fabric boot/sandals.  Finally, I’m carrying a vintage gold tone YSL clutch, because as you know, I just love a little sparkle!

Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day this weekend :)

XO Kathleen

PS - I’m looking forward to showing you how I wear the top to my Olivia Von Halle set soon!  Stay tuned!
