Valentines In Valentino

I’ve referenced my adoration for Maestro Valentino here before. His house of couture creates more than fashionable evening gowns and dresses. Valentino designs are works of art with attention to detail, silhouette and texture that add up to breathtaking beauty.

Valentino once said “Only wear clothes that make you feel alive”, and I strongly feel this way myself.

I wore this Valentino evening gown to my bonus daughter’s wedding last year. (I am linking a similar version here). The classic silhouette and magnetic beauty of the design captivated my heart. Pierpaolo Piccioli’s ability to fuse his designs with modern touches in keeping with the tone of classic glamour in a nod to Maestro Valentino continues to awe me. I deliberated for a time as to whether or not I should purchase this sequin beauty but In the end, it was impossible to find anything I liked nearly as much. I styled it with a green toned sheer silk overlay during the nuptuals rather than the green silk short jacket from Talbot Runhof that I am wearing here.

The beautiful Stuart Weitzman Stuart Scallop D’orsay 85 Pumps in sparkling gold tones compliment the sequins and drama in my dress while the mixture of bracelets from Hermes, Chanel and my mother’s beloved jade bracelet play off the color in my jacket. I added a Ferragamo Gancini chocker necklace and am carrying a silk reversible handbag that was gifted to me by a dear friend which also play off the tones of the dress.

I hope you all are having a beautiful Valentine’s Day filled with love, chocolate and #onlyJoy.

XO
